Environmental Services, Industrial Manufacturing Facility, Georgia -
Blue Ridge was contacted to provide environmental services for the revitalization of a historic textile facility in Georgia. Historical records showed that the facility started operations in 1880 and produced a variety of textile products. Blue Ridge personnel performed a Phase I ESA. The Phase 1 findings led to our recommendation for a Phase 2 soil and groundwater assessment including approximately 100 borings and eight monitoring well installations and sampling for petroleum hydrocarbons, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), semi-VOCs, and metals. Blue Ridge planned and performed a facility-wide asbestos survey/quantification/labeling of the five story building. Blue Ridge conducted a facility-wide lead-based paint survey using an XRF machine, a mercury vapor survey and sampling (wipe and air), PCB sampling, and pesticide sampling. The site was remediated and is currently being renovated into a mixed use residential and commerical site.
